About The Position

The Maternal Health and Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in enhancing the health and safety of women and mothers in Texas through the management and implementation of Maternal and Child Health (MCH)-funded initiatives. This position involves overseeing various quality improvement projects, collaborating with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with health regulations and performance measures. The coordinator will also provide technical assistance, develop educational resources, and maintain effective communication with community partners and health agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health policy, or maternal and child health; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in public health, population health, or health policy development, preferably in maternal and child health.
  • Experience in program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Experience in developing, writing, and presenting reports.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, development, coordination, and implementation of MCH-funded initiatives.
  • Provide consultation and technical assistance for statewide maternal and child health activities.
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and prepare data and reports in response to information requests.
  • Coordinate planning and development of population-based services in partnership with public health agencies.
  • Provide communication support for MCH initiatives and program activities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and speak to communities and professional groups on maternal and child health topics.
