About The Position

The Math Hub Peer Tutor provides tutoring under the supervision of the Math Hub Coordinator. This position is only open to current Grayson College students. Tutors work a minimum of 3 hours per week, with tutoring sessions scheduled according to tutor and student availability. Generally, tutoring occurs during the hours that Math Hub is open, and tutors may not work more than 15 hours per week. The position pays $15.00/hour.

Requirements

• Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 on an accredited college transcript
• Must be earning a 4.0 in any course to be tutored
• Effective communication skills in English
• Ability to demonstrate Viking Values of balance, clarity, gratitude, service, teamwork, and trust
• Compliance with all laws and regulations related to tutoring in higher education
• Demonstrated passion for teaching and helping others understand course content and effective study strategies
• Flexibility to adjust approach and teaching methods to meet student needs
• Punctuality in arriving to work as scheduled

Responsibilities

• Tutors students in assigned subjects (90%)
• Participates in tutor training sessions as part of the tutor certification program (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned (5%)
