About the position

The Math Instructional Coach at Cook County School District 130 is responsible for enhancing teaching and learning in mathematics through modeling, coaching, and professional development. This role aims to improve student achievement by implementing quality curriculum and instructional strategies. The coach will work under the supervision of the assistant superintendent and the director of curriculum, focusing on leadership in educational practices and adult learning theory.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning through modeling and coaching in mathematics.
• Facilitate professional development for teachers to improve instructional practices.
• Collaborate with educators to enhance curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Implement and support the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and tiered instruction.
• Demonstrate leadership in classroom management and adult learning processes.

Requirements

• Current and valid state of Illinois Professional Educator License with required endorsements.
• Four or more years of successful teaching experience at the elementary level.
• Knowledge of adult learning processes and strategies.
• Demonstrated facilitation experience in providing adult professional development.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics.
