About the position

The University of Southern Maine's Veterans Upward Bound Program is seeking a part-time Math Instructor to support veterans in preparing for post-secondary education. This role involves working with a dynamic team to implement math courses tailored to the needs of first-generation, income-eligible veterans. The position is designed to empower participants through a math refresher workshop and additional support as needed, with a focus on non-traditional learners.

Responsibilities

• Implement academic year and summer Math courses for veterans.
• Conduct math refresher workshops once each semester, totaling three sessions per year.
• Provide additional support to participants based on their individual needs.
• Collaborate with Veterans Upward Bound staff to enhance the learning experience.
• Develop curriculum tailored to non-traditional learners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Previous experience in high school or collegiate math instruction.
