About the position

The Math Instructor/Tutor at Mathnasium is responsible for teaching and tutoring students in mathematics using the Mathnasium Method. This part-time role offers flexible hours and aims to transform the lives of students in grades 2-12 by providing individualized instruction and support in a fun and encouraging environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach/tutor in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method.
• Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting.
• Assess students' learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions.
• Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes.
• Support the maintenance of a safe and professional learning environment.

Requirements

• Passion for math and working with students.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to learn and be trained.
• Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I.
• Ability to balance various ongoing tasks.
• Must be within one year of receiving your High School Diploma.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with children as a Teacher, Tutor or Mathematics Instructor.
• Pursuing a degree in education, math/science, or related field.
• Ability to teach up to Algebra 1 or Geometry.
• Excellent child management skills and ability to tutor in a small group setting.
• Ability to create a sense of comfort in parents and children.
• Ability to communicate clearly with staff, parents, and students.
• Excellent organizational skills.
