About the position
Epic Academics is seeking part-time Math and Science Tutors to provide individualized instruction to students in grades K-12, specifically in high school level subjects through AP level. The role involves working directly with students at the Schaumburg, IL center, focusing on subjects such as Math through AP Calculus and various Science disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Tutors will be responsible for preparing lessons, grading assignments, and maintaining detailed records of student progress.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized instruction to students in tutoring sessions up to a 3:1 ratio
- Keep detailed records of tutoring sessions using the online student profile tracking system
- Prepare individualized lessons for each student
- Grade students' class work and homework
- Build meaningful relationships and academic rapport with students
- Work in a friendly, team-oriented environment to help make class a success
- Show a positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Multi-task and take directions effectively
- Communicate professionally and in a timely manner
Requirements
- Completed Bachelor's Degree
- Pass the Teacher Qualifying Exam
- Tutoring/teaching experience is required
- Pass the audition/training
- Availability to tutor after school hours, evenings, and weekends
