Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and deliver instruction to meet individual and group learning needs.
• Exhibit considerable knowledge of learning theory and best practices.
• Act in the best interests of students and model appropriate behavior in professional interactions.
• Develop daily instructional activities for secondary students using state Standards of Learning.
• Utilize current school and division data to plan instruction effectively.
• Create formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Maintain classroom order and a well-organized learning environment.
• Keep accurate records of student performance and attendance, communicating effectively with students and parents.
• Select and use a variety of instructional materials to enhance learning.
• Coordinate instruction with other staff members regarding student learning needs.
• Stay updated on current educational trends and best practices.
• Incorporate technology to support instruction and student learning.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• A valid teaching license in the specified curriculum.
• Relevant college coursework and passing Praxis test scores may be considered.

Benefits

• Minimum annual starting salary of $54,602 for Bachelor's degree holders, $57,223 for Master's degree holders, and $59,970 for Doctorate holders.
