About the position

The Math Teacher at Campus High School is responsible for educating high school students in mathematics, fostering their development into responsible individuals. The role involves creating a conducive learning environment, planning lessons tailored to student needs, and assessing student progress while adhering to district policies and educational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Meets and instructs assigned classes in designated locations and times.
  • Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning appropriate to student maturity and interests.
  • Prepares for classes and shows written evidence of preparation upon request.
  • Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Guides the learning process toward achieving curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for lessons.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
  • Implements the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals.
  • Assesses student accomplishments regularly and provides progress reports as required.
  • Confers with district specialists regarding possible learning disabilities of students.
  • Takes necessary precautions to protect students and materials.
  • Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
  • Assists administration in implementing policies governing student conduct.
  • Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and maintains order fairly.
  • Makes provisions for availability to students and parents for educational purposes outside instructional hours.
  • Plans and supervises assignments for teacher aides and volunteers.
  • Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
  • Works with a designated team to meet student needs.
  • Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
  • Complies with safety practices and district regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with appropriate Kansas licensure.
