Math Tutor

Mathnasium is dedicated to changing lives through math, and we are currently seeking exceptional tutors to join our Stone Oak Center team in San Antonio, TX. As a Mathnasium instructor, you will be a motivated, responsible, and passionate math expert who plays a crucial role in helping students build number sense, boost their confidence, and gain a deep understanding of math concepts. Your primary responsibilities will include creating a positive, engaging, and fun learning environment, learning and implementing the Mathnasium curriculum and teaching methods, and participating in ongoing training to enhance your skills and effectiveness as a tutor. In this part-time position, you will have the opportunity to work with students across all grade levels, from 1 to 12. The role offers a consistent and flexible schedule, averaging 8-12 hours per week. You will be tutoring students in math, and all work will be conducted in the center, meaning there are no lessons to plan or homework to assign. This allows you to focus on deepening your understanding of math through extensive training in the Mathnasium Method, which is designed to equip you with the tools necessary to effectively teach and engage students. The pay for this position starts at $12.00 per hour during the initial training period of approximately four weeks, with a raise to $13.00 per hour following the completion of training. Additional raises may be available with further training completed. We are looking for individuals who are at least 16 years old and who plan to work with us for a minimum of nine months. Experience in tutoring or working with children in grades 1-12 is preferred, and proficiency in math through Algebra 2 is required, with Pre-Calculus or Calculus being a plus.
