About the position
The Mathematics and Statistics Affiliate Instructor at Metropolitan State University of Denver is a part-time, non-tenure track position responsible for teaching General Studies mathematics courses and facilitating small group learning sessions. Responsibilities
- Conduct 1 - 9 hours of in-person or hybrid General Studies mathematics courses.
- Facilitate in-person small group learning sessions that accompany General Studies mathematics courses.
- Prepare course materials and lesson plans for assigned classes.
- Grade student work and provide timely feedback.
- Address student questions in accordance with university policies.
- Maintain office hours for student support.
- Comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, or a closely related field.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in teaching with technology, such as calculators and computer software.
