About the position
Help fulfill the university's mission by teaching students and providing content expertise in mathematics teacher education and liberal arts mathematics courses, as well as contributing content and programmatic expertise in these areas. Additional responsibilities include advising students and other department and university assignments. Throughout their careers, all BYU-Idaho faculty are expected to actively pursue professional development opportunities in learning and teaching and ongoing scholarly development within their discipline.
Responsibilities
- Teach students in mathematics teacher education and liberal arts mathematics courses.
- Provide content expertise in mathematics education.
- Advise students and fulfill other department and university assignments.
- Pursue professional development opportunities in learning and teaching.
- Engage in ongoing scholarly development within the discipline.
Requirements
- An advanced degree (master's or doctorate) in mathematics teacher education.
- At least three years of K-12 teaching experience.
- Significant understanding of mathematics education research.
- Proven ability to integrate research-based practices into mathematics education courses and curriculum.
- Commitment to teaching liberal arts mathematics courses.
- Demonstrated commitment to and potential for excellence in teaching.
