About the position

The Mathematics Teacher at Economedes High School is responsible for providing students with effective learning experiences in mathematics, whether through distance, virtual, or face-to-face instruction. The role aims to help students achieve their full potential in various aspects of growth, including intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development. The teacher will develop lesson plans, assess student learning, and create a conducive classroom environment while collaborating with other staff members to meet educational goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans and activities for distance, virtual, or face-to-face learning.
• Prepare lessons that accommodate different student learning styles and needs.
• Present subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines and district policies.
• Conduct assessments of student learning styles to inform instructional activities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students as per IEP guidelines.
• Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aides and volunteers.
• Utilize technology to enhance the teaching and learning process.
• Help students analyze and improve their study methods and habits.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor approved outside activities.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students' development.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
• Communicate regularly with students and parents via various platforms and maintain an ongoing contact log.
• Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.
• Knowledge of subjects assigned and general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior effectively.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
