About The Position
The Mayland Works Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the college's efforts for the world of work, which includes but limited to, apprenticeships, pre-apprenticeships, and Work-Based Learning. The coordinator will take an entrepreneurial approach to building and expanding the work opportunities for our students and proactively seeking opportunities to develop strong partnerships with employers in the Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey County areas. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual who is comfortable engaging with business and industry leaders to support partnerships that benefit both students and employers. This role requires adaptability, creativity, and a proactive mindset to identify emerging industry needs and develop strategic solutions that ensure students are prepared for the jobs of the future. The coordinator will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify and develop training programs that align with workforce trends. This includes working closely with the NC Community College System Offices, high school representatives, economic development agencies, and college leaders and administration to establish a sustainable pipeline through apprenticeship programs.
