About the position

Upswing is seeking remote tutors who are passionate about fostering independence in students through the Socratic method. The role involves conducting online tutoring sessions in various business-related subjects, utilizing Upswing's virtual classroom technology. Tutors will work based on their availability and student demand, primarily during the evenings from Sunday to Thursday. This position is ideal for individuals with an MBA who enjoy teaching and helping students develop critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct online tutoring sessions using the Socratic method.
• Support students in various business courses including Financial Accounting, Marketing Management, and Business Analytics.
• Create a distraction-free environment for effective tutoring.
• Respond promptly to session requests from students.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate student needs.

Requirements

• Completed an MBA program.
• Ability to tutor in multiple business courses.
• Access to reliable, high-speed Internet.
• A quiet, distraction-free environment for conducting tutorials.
• Reliable laptop/desktop with camera and microphone functionality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum availability of 2-5 hours per week during fall and spring semesters.

Nice-to-haves

• Background in teaching methodology or instruction.
