About the position

The McKesson Health Systems (MHS) Field Sales Support Intern position is a paid internship designed for undergraduate or graduate students to gain real-world experience in healthcare distribution and services. Interns will work closely with the Health Systems Field Sales Team, supporting customer relationships and learning about sales techniques, research strategies, and the operational aspects of the healthcare industry. This role emphasizes experiential learning and professional development, providing interns with the opportunity to connect their academic knowledge with practical applications in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Field Sales team and other cross-functional team members to support customer relationships and handle various customer support functions.
  • Perform sales and administrative tasks under managerial direction on small to mid-size accounts.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, track industry trends and market conditions, and report findings to key stakeholders.
  • Learn and demonstrate core competencies including adaptability, customer focus, decision making, initiative, and quality.
  • Ride along with team members to observe, participate, and interface with customers directly.
  • Communicate issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility.
  • Present products, solutions, or services that can benefit customer needs.
  • Engage in sales training, including pre-call planning, analysis, and presentation preparation.
  • Participate in weekly intern-driven meetings, professional development workshops, and final project presentations.
  • Support additional ad hoc projects as requested.

Requirements

  • Enrolled as a full-time student at the Undergraduate or Graduate level at the time of the internship.
  • Completed a minimum of 75 credit hours by the start of the internship.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, available during core hours for critical meetings and training.
  • Willingness to learn, develop, and contribute to a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
