About the position

The MCG Senior Product Owner for the Clinical Platform is a pivotal role that combines hands-on configuration, maintenance, and support of MCG Cite Auto Auth and WebQI with the expertise necessary to drive new initiatives and enhancements. This position is designed for an experienced professional who will work remotely from the greater Baltimore metropolitan area, with occasional visits to CareFirst locations for meetings, training, and other business-related activities. The individual will serve as the primary point of contact for all MCG or CareWebQI related inquiries, ensuring the optimal functionality of these products and their alignment with evolving business needs, particularly focusing on cost of care considerations. In this role, the Senior Product Owner will lead the definition of Product Backlogs by collaborating closely with clinical teams and clinical platform leaders. They will define the Product Roadmap, develop epics and features, and build a Product Backlog that is reviewed with business owners to determine business value and priority. The Product Owner will also determine acceptance criteria and have the authority to accept or reject deliverables from the development team. They will articulate the value proposition of the tools to various stakeholders, including clinicians, administrators, and IT personnel, and will be accountable for the success of the product or component under their purview. The responsibilities also include configuring and maintaining MCG Cite Auto Auth and WebQI to meet organizational needs, managing user access and permissions, troubleshooting issues, implementing updates, and monitoring system performance. The Senior Product Owner will guide Business Analysts in breaking down the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) into user stories and will provide inputs to the Scrum Master on improvement opportunities. Engaging with clients and stakeholders, the Product Owner will gather requirements, prioritize enhancements, and develop implementation plans while ensuring smooth execution of new initiatives in collaboration with the MCG vendor. Additionally, they will support a culture change to improve delivery agility and mentor less experienced staff to foster team development.

Responsibilities

  • Define the Product Backlogs by collaborating with clinical teams and clinical platform leaders.
  • Develop the Product Roadmap and use it to create epics and features.
  • Build and review the Product Backlog with business owners to determine business value and priority.
  • Determine acceptance criteria and have the authority to accept or reject development team deliverables.
  • Articulate the value proposition of the tools to various stakeholders.
  • Configure and maintain MCG Cite Auto Auth and WebQI to meet organizational needs.
  • Manage user access, permissions, and roles within the tools.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolutions to ensure seamless operation.
  • Implement updates, patches, and enhancements as needed.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address potential problems.
  • Guide Business Analysts in breaking down the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) into user stories.
  • Provide inputs to the Scrum Master on improvement opportunities with grooming sessions.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to educate and provide relevant product information.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize enhancements.
  • Work closely with the MCG vendor to ensure smooth execution of new initiatives.
  • Monitor the success of enhancements and make adjustments as needed.
  • Support culture change to improve delivery agility.
  • Provide strategic guidance on the future direction of the tools within the organization.
  • Mentor Product Owners to ensure their success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Product Management, Engineering, Information Technology or related field, or 4 additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 6 years of experience in IT and business analysis, business development, solutions development, systems analysis, technical design/development, implementation, or 4 years of product owner experience.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite ability.
  • Knowledge of project planning and life cycle development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
  • Ability to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands.
