About the position

The MCI Dining Services Associate at Baptist Health is responsible for managing the financial and operational aspects of food services within the Miami Cancer Institute. This role involves bookkeeping, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate billing while maintaining high standards of internal controls. The associate will also assist in training cashiers and coordinating catering events, contributing to a positive dining experience for patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provides weekly and monthly reports, computer documents, accurate billing, and overall departmental bookkeeping.
  • Reconciles all cash sales and prepares daily, weekly, and monthly cash reports for the department.
  • Maintains approved standards of internal controls and prepares and reconciles cashier cash banks and safe.
  • Processes food and supply invoices for payment and prepares an invoice register to track weekly operating expenses.
  • Maintains an innovative approach to invoice tracking and spreadsheet creation.
  • Responsible for training, auditing, and educating cashiers.
  • Assists leaders with the operation of retail operations and coordination of on-site catering events.
  • Maintains the Menu Marketing program in an orderly fashion and up to date.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • ServSafe Certification required within 3 months of hire.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in hospitality, project planning, or event planning.
  • Clerical/administrative experience required.
  • Extensive computer knowledge, including MS Office tools and expertise in spreadsheets and specialty software.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • General knowledge of company policies, practices, and operations.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Basic bookkeeping, accounting, and cash handling/double entry experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred.

  • Competitive pay range of $18.59 - $22.49 per hour depending on experience.
