About the position

The MD, Inflight Training and Standards position is responsible for overseeing the recruitment and training of flight attendants, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, and managing the delivery of training programs. This role involves leading a team that administers Inflight policies and procedures, tracks training metrics, and supports the development of flight attendants and Pursers. The position also manages a significant operating budget and oversees the training complex, ensuring effective training delivery for over 26,000 crewmembers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees flight attendant recruitment and hiring processes.
  • Designs and delivers training programs for flight attendants and Inflight leadership.
  • Leads Inflight standards around policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with FAA and other regulatory training requirements.
  • Manages an annual operating budget of $4M and a special assignment budget of $5M.
  • Oversees the Skyview 3 and 5 Training complex and renovation efforts.
  • Communicates and coordinates with FAA for training program approvals.
  • Delivers Advanced Qualification Program (AQP) curriculum and collects performance data.
  • Oversees recruitment and training of new hire flight attendant trainees.
  • Selects training development leaders and instructors for training programs.
  • Determines strategic training plans in coordination with various departments.
  • Evaluates and documents performance of direct report staff.
  • Ensures program quality and consistency in training content.
  • Partners with facility managers for training space and resources.
  • Conducts training needs assessments and recommends learning solutions.
  • Monitors department spending to meet budgetary goals.
  • Maintains flight attendant crew qualifications and regulatory certifications.
  • Coaches and leads a centralized call center team on business objectives.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of leadership experience, with at least 5 years managing leaders.
  • Experience with hiring/recruitment practices and general HR knowledge preferred.
  • Demonstrated superior leadership and management skills.
  • Effective presentation skills in a fast-paced learning environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
