About the position

The MDD Delica Section Manager is responsible for the independent management of Delica merchandise design and the development of new items. This role requires close collaboration with the department manager and team to ensure effective retail operations, focusing on food safety and enhancing customer experience as the foundation for success.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for all aspects of the department's operations, including maximizing sales and profits, optimizing staffing, and ensuring cleanliness of the work area and shop floor.
• Oversee the cost-effective use of human resources, goods, supplies, and equipment to achieve the department's budget.
• Ensure the store provides customers with a pleasant experience through excellent service and a safe environment.

Requirements

• Must be able to use job-related equipment such as knives, wrappers, scales, compactors, garbage disposals, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
• Must be able to operate pallet jacks, scissor lifts, balers, compactors, and scrub machines.
• Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service.
• Possess or willing to obtain a forklift operating license.
• Possess or willing to obtain a food handling certificate and achieve accreditation within the first 90 days of employment.
• Able to read, write, and perform simple math problems.
• Able to interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
• Ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from the general public and management.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual skills in Japanese or Spanish are a plus.
