About the position

As a member of the Retail Device Management team at Apple, the MDM QA Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of tools focused on Mobile Device Management (MDM) for MacOS and iOS platforms, as well as related applications and infrastructure. This position is designed for early-career professionals who are eager to contribute to the testing and quality assurance processes that uphold Apple's high standards. The role involves a comprehensive understanding of testing methodologies, which will be applied to MDM protocols, iOS, and web applications. The MDM QA Engineer will be responsible for executing tests, documenting results, and collaborating with various teams to enhance the overall quality of the products and services delivered to retail store end users. The Retail Device Management team is dedicated to handling, securing, and supporting all Apple Retail devices worldwide. The MDM QA Engineer will focus on executing comprehensive MDM tests across various mobile platforms, ensuring that device enrollment, configuration, and app distribution processes are seamless. Additionally, the role requires designing and implementing both automated and manual front-end tests to guarantee a flawless user experience across different browsers and devices. The engineer will also collaborate closely with developers to conduct back-end testing, including API testing and database queries, to identify and resolve performance issues. Accessibility is a key focus for this role, as the MDM QA Engineer will conduct detailed audits of applications to ensure compliance with web accessibility guidelines. The engineer will document testing results, defects, and issues clearly and concisely, utilizing project management tools like Jira to track progress and communicate effectively with multi-functional teams. Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in mobile applications, MDM, and testing methodologies is essential for continuous improvement in this role.

Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive MDM tests on various mobile platforms, including iOS and macOS, using industry-leading MDM solutions.
• Design, develop, and implement automated and manual front-end tests on web and mobile applications.
• Collaborate closely with developers to test the back-end systems, performing API testing, database queries, stress testing, and scalability testing.
• Conduct detailed accessibility audits of applications to ensure compliance with web accessibility guidelines.
• Document testing results, defects, and issues in a clear and concise manner, applying Jira or similar project management tools to track testing progress.
• Keep up with the latest trends and technologies in mobile applications, MDM, front-end, back-end, and accessibility testing.

Requirements

• Experience as a QA Tester with a focus on MDM, front-end, back-end, and accessibility testing.
• Strong understanding of Mobile Device Management (MDM) concepts and solutions.
• Experience in front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Knowledge of back-end technologies, such as server-side programming, databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), and APIs.
