About the position

PingWind is looking for qualified candidates to support Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) functions as an Information Security Analyst. The successful candidate will provide Functional Mission Analysis-Cyber (FMA-C) assistance to identify the weapon system's critical information technology architecture and supporting infrastructure that aids the warfighting mission. This role requires familiarity with the Mission Assurance Decision Support System (MADSS) and other similar database repositories, such as the Strategic Mission Assurance Database System (SMADS). Candidates should possess an in-depth knowledge of various technical resources pertinent to emerging cyber tools and capabilities required to perform FMA and supporting assessments, including open-source technologies. The primary responsibilities include investigating a diverse collection of network activities in cyberspace in support of command, control, processes, and systems. The analyst will develop strategies to identify, evaluate, and minimize risks in the local cyberspace environment that are crucial for mission success. They will create and implement strategies and techniques to merge and display relevant Mission Relevant Terrain Cyber (MRT-C), based on essential systems and network services. Additionally, the analyst will assist with FMA-C, identifying, mapping, and developing a defense plan to safeguard MRT-C, maintain databases to monitor systems, modify user boundaries, and create indexing to facilitate easier searches. The role also involves reviewing and providing recommendations for establishing new or revised policies, procedures, objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary. The analyst will receive and analyze network alerts from various sources within the enterprise, determine possible causes of such alerts, define and perform vulnerability assessments leveraging threat analysis to scope and prioritize efforts, and document and escalate incidents while performing cyber defense trend analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate a diverse collection of network activities in cyberspace in support of command, control, processes, and systems.

Requirements

  • TS with SCI Eligibility
  • DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information system engineering, or related technical discipline in cybersecurity or information technology, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training and work experience
  • 5+ Years of combined experience in Functional Mission Analysis in Cyberspace processes and associated mapping and defense of Mission-Relevant Terrain in Cyberspace
  • Knowledge of IT cybersecurity principles, concepts, and methods to investigate, analyze, and respond to cyber incidents within a computer network environment or enclave
  • Understanding of IT security principles, policies, products and services to assess risk factors and advise on vulnerability to attack from a variety of sources
  • Familiarity with telecommunications principles, concepts, and methodologies, operating characteristics and capabilities of systems, media, equipment, and related software systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10 years of DoD or USAF experience as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer or Officer with demonstrated leadership abilities.
