The Measurement Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and successful installation, maintenance, accuracy, and repair of the company's measurement and controls facilities. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including working with electronic measurement devices, SCADA devices, regulators, relief valves, control valves, and various types of physical meters. The technician is required to respond to after-hour callouts due to equipment and operational problems, demonstrating a commitment to operational excellence and safety. The role demands flexibility, as the technician must be willing to work overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure the reliability of the gas measurement systems. In this position, the technician will employ computers, software, and various technological tools to install and service gas measurement instruments, ensuring precise measurement and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in computer applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is essential, as is the ability to perform voltage testing, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure the safety and functionality of low voltage wiring and components. The technician will be responsible for implementing and maintaining all phases of mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic measurement and measurement control equipment, including the installation, operation, and maintenance of all gas pipeline-related facilities. The role requires the technician to work autonomously under minimal supervision, often in extreme weather conditions, and to provide emergency response after regular business hours. Compliance with company standards, procedures, regulatory and tariff requirements is mandatory, along with thorough documentation and record-keeping. The technician will also inspect and oversee construction and maintenance activities performed by third parties and may be required to train and oversee company and third-party personnel. A strong emphasis on personal safety and the safety of others is paramount, as the technician will be dealing with safety-sensitive tasks and is subject to DOT workplace drug and alcohol testing.
