About the position

The Meat Associate role at SpartanNash involves independently preparing, packaging, displaying, and stocking meat products while ensuring compliance with safety and food safety guidelines. The position is part-time and focuses on contributing to the store's financial success and enhancing guest experience through quality service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce meat products according to the production planner.
• Package and label meat products as per program plan.
• Merchandise meat products according to flight plan and merchandising expectations.
• Stock backroom with meat products, ensuring proper rotation and dating of cases and buckets.
• Notify the Meat Manager when products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Collaborate with other departments and stores to achieve growth in SpartanNash retail stores.
• Understand basic functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Communicate tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps completed to other associates.
• Follow all PPE and safety guidelines.
• Adhere to food safety and cleaning expectations.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail-oriented.
