Responsibilities

• Ensure meat is wrapped, weighed, and priced properly.
• Operate wrapping machine.
• Provide customer service and ensure product quality and selection.
• Maintain cleanliness of department and equipment.
• Consistently provide friendly, courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
• Seek opportunities to welcome, engage, serve, and thank customers.
• Maintain an atmosphere of friendly, enthusiastic customer service.
• Answer questions from customers and engage in suggestive selling.
• Weigh, tray, grind, wrap, and price poultry and meat.
• Prevent sale of spoiled and outdated product by following laws and company policy.
• Ensure proper merchandising of product and eye-appeal of the department.
• Stock and rotate product, consolidating racks as needed.
• Clean mirrors, glass, and other surfaces as required.

Requirements

• Ability to consistently provide friendly, courteous service to customers.
• Ability to work varied hours primarily between 5:00 am to 11:00 pm, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to conduct visual inspections and read production guides and product labels.
• Ability to properly use cleaning chemicals according to guidelines.
• Ability to handle food products per State and County laws and WinCo standards.
• Ability to read and follow written work assignments and instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively on the sales floor.
• Ability to reach, lift, and maneuver objects up to 25 lbs frequently and 30-60 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to push and pull fully loaded hand trucks and pallet jacks.
• Ability to perform repetitious arm movements required for wrapping and slicing products.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in a refrigerated area (32 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit).
• Ability to perform basic math and compute weights and measures.
