The Meat Cutter I position at Bashas' is designed for individuals who are passionate about food and customer service. As a Meat Team Member, you will be responsible for executing day-to-day operations in the Meat and Seafood departments, ensuring that customers receive a memorable experience. This role requires a keen eye for food safety and sanitation, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to engage with customers, providing them with product information and suggestions while maintaining a friendly and positive attitude. Your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks such as ordering, cutting, grinding, slicing, weighing, wrapping, and labeling meat products according to quality and food safety standards. You will also be responsible for controlling product shrinkage and inventory expenses through proper handling and wrapping techniques. Additionally, you will need to keep the meat counter and work areas clean, neat, and well-stocked, ensuring that all products are displayed according to merchandising guidelines. This position is safety-sensitive, and you will be required to use various meat department tools and equipment, including knives, saws, and wrapping machines, while adhering to safety standards. You may also assist in the preparation of ready-to-go meat products and take customer orders, ensuring they are completed to the customer's satisfaction. While your primary responsibilities will be in the Meat department, you may also be required to work in other departments as needed.
