About the position

As a Meat Helper at Food City, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive the best service possible while maintaining the highest standards of product quality and safety. Your primary responsibility will be to support the company's mission to 'Run the Best Store in Town' by providing efficient and courteous customer service at all times. You will be expected to maintain a positive attitude and create an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork. This position requires you to greet and engage with customers, ensuring that they feel welcomed and valued during their shopping experience. In addition to customer service, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products for self-service are properly packaged with correct weights and ingredients. You will follow the company's Food Safety program diligently, assisting in stocking and organizing products, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the department. This includes light cutting work, receiving and ordering processed meats, and ensuring that all display cases are neat and clean. You will also be tasked with maintaining good code dates on all products and ensuring that packaged products meet the necessary weights and measures regulations. Your role will require you to keep your workstation and the surrounding area clean and organized, as well as to sanitize the department at least twice a day. Attendance during scheduled shifts is critical to adhere to the company's time and attendance policies, ensuring that the department runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient and courteous customer service at all times in support of the company mission to 'Run the Best Store in Town'.
• Maintain a positive attitude and create an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork.
• Generate a positive, friendly, and fun working environment with a customer-first initiative by greeting and speaking to customers.
• Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service.
• Ensure products for self-service are in proper package with correct weights and ingredients.
• Follow company Food Safety program.
• Assist in stocking and proper rotation of products.
• Assist in organizing cooler arrangement and rotation of product.
• Assist in light cutting work.
• Assist in receiving/ordering all processed meats.
• Maintain correct pricing of all processed meats.
• Maintain neat and clean appearance of all display cases.
• Maintain good code dates on all product in display cases.
• Assist in making sure that all packaged products for self-service are in proper package with correct weights and measures regulations.
• Keep workstation and area around workstation neat and clean.
• Sanitize and clean the department at least twice a day.
• Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
• Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks.
• Ability to have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.
