About the position

The Meat Cutter position at Cosentino's Enterprise Inc. is designed to assist customers by providing high-quality meat products in an efficient, friendly, and courteous manner. The role involves various responsibilities related to meat preparation, customer service, and maintaining product quality, all while adhering to health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers at the counter by weighing, wrapping, and pricing selected items.
• Follow guidelines on proper techniques of cutting and preparing items for display cases.
• Monitor product expiration dates and ensure proper rotation of items.
• Identify and remove damaged or un-saleable products, following proper procedures for damage claims.
• Accurately count and record merchandise as part of the inventory process.
• Change shelf tags and price markers on displays quickly and accurately.
• Provide knowledgeable answers to customer questions regarding department items and policies.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and involve management when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area and department.
• Comply with health regulations, sanitation guidelines, and safety procedures.
• Operate, clean, and maintain all equipment safely and competently.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards for team and individual results.

Requirements

• Must obtain a food handling permit within the first 14 days of employment.
• Must meet training and experience requirements for Journeyman Meat Cutter status within the first 2 years of employment.
• Completion of ongoing training and development as per the Cosentino Learning Plan.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2 years of experience in cutting various meat products.

Nice-to-haves
