About the position

The Meat Market Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the meat department at Food Lion. Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the meat department, including inventory control, product presentation, and staff supervision.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards.
• Conduct interviews and participate in the hiring process for new staff within the department.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the meat area.
• Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to drive sales growth while managing stock levels effectively.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Collaborate with upper management on department goals and initiatives to enhance overall store performance.
• Utilize POS systems for accurate transaction processing and inventory management.

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail management or a similar role within the food industry.
• Strong skills in time management, shift management, and multitasking.
• Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are a plus.
• Familiarity with sales techniques and customer engagement strategies is highly desirable.
• A background in butchery or meat processing is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided as needed.
