Responsibilities

  • Perform general product preparation, clean-up, and stock work in the Meat department.
  • Provide customer service and maintain good relations with customers and associates.
  • Cut, grind, slice, prepare, process, trim, tenderize, seal, package, wrap, bag, price, prefabricate, date, label, scale, merchandise, sell, and serve customers according to company policies.
  • Keep department temperature logs accurately updated and maintained.
  • Stock and display meat items safely and in accordance with company standards.
  • Check product quality, ensuring proper rotation and freshness.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in sales areas, backrooms, and coolers.
  • Keep carts, tools, and supplies organized in their designated areas.
  • Ensure floors are clean, safe, and free from clutter.
  • Unload trucks, sort orders, and place items in proper cooler locations.
  • Wash and sanitize equipment according to company and health department policies.
  • Greet customers and provide them with good quality foods promptly and cheerfully.
  • Increase store sales and profits in conjunction with retail operations and marketing programs.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, particularly regarding a harassment-free work environment.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Requirements

  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
  • Experience working with various cleaning solutions and safely using sharp tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to handle stressful situations tactfully and calmly.
  • Desired meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
  • Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
