In addition to customer interaction, the Meat Sales Associate is responsible for setting up displays, rotating products, and ensuring that all meat products are fresh and properly priced. This includes handling spoiled or damaged products according to company procedures and maintaining logs to track product freshness and quality. The associate may also be involved in grinding and cutting meats and poultry, weighing and wrapping merchandise, and applying the correct pricing stickers. General sanitation and cleanliness in the department are paramount, and associates must follow cleaning schedules and health guidelines to ensure compliance with safety regulations. The position may also involve assisting with deliveries, including receiving and storing products, and operating equipment such as power jacks or hand jacks, provided the associate has received the necessary training.
