About the position

Market of Choice is seeking a Meat & Seafood Field Merchandiser to join their corporate team. This role focuses on the operational excellence of Meat & Seafood Departments across eleven stores in Oregon, with a hands-on approach to executing standard operating procedures and company policies. The position involves collaboration with store management to ensure food safety, customer service, and best practices in department conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular store tours to Meat and Seafood departments in various locations including Portland, Ashland, Bend, Corvallis, Eugene, and Medford.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with Corporate Store Operations, Sales Manager, and Store and Departmental management.
• Execute best practices for customer service, merchandising, inventory, ordering, staffing, food safety, and product quality.
• Create action plans to address and correct substandard expectations in the departments.
• Maintain current knowledge of trends, products, and services in the Meat and Seafood industry.
• Develop and maintain outstanding relations with customers, employees, and vendors.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of Meat and Seafood operations and safety.
• Experience with processing fresh/frozen primal and cuts of Beef, Pork, Lamb, and Poultry.
• Experience with Seafood operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use various office software including word processing, spreadsheets, and email management.
• ServSafe certification is required.
