About the position

As a Retail Operations Meat Specialist, you will oversee and manage the operations of assigned store departments to maximize sales, gross margins, and customer satisfaction. This role involves consulting with store owners and managers, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and providing training and support to staff. You will also be responsible for implementing company programs and enhancing the overall performance of the department.

Responsibilities

• Maximize department sales and gross profits using company programs and past experience.
• Provide counsel to store owners and managers on equipment, operating practices, and product merchandising.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and suggest changes as necessary.
• Monitor compliance with state, county, and local laws regarding weights and measures and labeling requirements.
• Assist in interviewing, hiring, and training department managers and employees.
• Make individual store visits to maintain business relationships with store owners.
• Implement and adhere to health and civil code regulations in assigned stores.
• Research and present new programs, promotions, and training seminars.
• Assist and supervise new store set-ups and staff training.
• Monitor labor scheduling and suggest changes as needed.
• Supervise corporate store department managers and ensure adherence to labor agreements.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in the grocery or supermarket industry.
• Background in accounting is desired.
• Associate Degree in General Studies or Bachelor's Degree in General Studies.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with food safety certification or other required certifications.
• Knowledge of local ordinances regarding alcohol sales and Operator's License.
