The Mech III Shipping/Crating position at Baltimore Aircoil Company is a shop hourly role primarily focused on carpentry skills and the use of various tools and equipment essential for the crating and shipping process. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a radial arm saw, circular saw, and nail gun, as well as utilizing a tape measure to ensure precision in their work. Reading blueprints is a critical skill for this position, as it will guide the crating and staging of loads. The role also involves scheduling tasks, documenting processes, and managing the loading and put-away of materials. Kitting and maintaining accurate locations for materials are also part of the job responsibilities, ensuring compliance with inter-company policies and procedures. This position reports to the Shift Lead - Crating and has a breadth of influence that spans across departments within North America and potentially worldwide. The working conditions are physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for up to 80% of the time. Employees will also engage in activities such as walking, reaching, bending, and sitting, necessitating fine hand manipulation and hand-eye coordination to perform various tasks effectively. The working hours can include any of three shifts, typically scheduled for forty hours a week, with some weekend overtime expected. The working environment may involve temperature fluctuations both inside the plant and in ambient outside conditions.
