About the position

The A&P Mechanic position is a critical role within the Hangar Maintenance department, responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of aircraft systems. The individual in this role will troubleshoot aircraft systems and perform repairs in accordance with approved data, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. The mechanic will be expected to remove and replace parts as necessary, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of aircraft systems and their operations. This position requires a high level of independence, as the mechanic will often work with little or no supervision, completing assignments efficiently and effectively without the need for rework. In addition to technical skills, the A&P Mechanic must possess strong problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail. The role demands a proactive approach to maintenance and repair, with a focus on safety and quality. The mechanic will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of work performed and ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner. This position is essential for maintaining the operational readiness of the aircraft and supporting the overall mission of the organization. Candidates for this position must hold an A&P license and have experience working with 747 aircraft. A high school diploma is required, with some college or technical school education being desirable. The ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, is essential for this role, as the mechanic will need to provide direction to assigned staff and write routine reports. The work environment is primarily in an office setting with moderate noise levels, and reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must possess an A&P license.
  • 747 aircraft experience is required.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable.
  • Good working knowledge of world geography, air cargo / aircraft ground operations.
  • Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English.
