About the position
The Maintenance Technician at Firestone Polymers, LLC is responsible for maintaining and repairing all assigned equipment within the plant to ensure the production of high-quality finished products. This role involves troubleshooting equipment issues, reading blueprints, fabricating and installing components, and ensuring safety compliance while performing maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair all assigned equipment in the plant.
- Troubleshoot problem areas related to equipment.
- Read blueprints and sketches for equipment installation and repair.
- Fabricate and install pump bases as needed.
- Align couplings on various equipment.
- Rig equipment for cranes to lift as necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prefer 5 years of relevant industrial outside mechanic/millwright experience at a journeyman level.
- Good communication skills and ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting is a plus.
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with computer-based learning and off-site training programs.
