About the position
At MacAllister Machinery, we provide top-quality service and repair for equipment rentals. We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Mechanic to join our team. You will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise and make a significant impact on our customers' success. As a Technician at MacAllister Machinery, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment malfunctions and failures. You will rebuild, repair, and maintain equipment and components, ensuring they are operating at their highest performance. Your mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills will enable you to provide accurate repairs and exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures.
- Assist in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining equipment and components.
- Understand the operations, functions, specifications, capabilities, and controls of any piece of rental equipment.
- Complete all documents associated with repairs in an accurate and timely manner.
- Adhere to the manager's and lead mechanic's directions regarding all repairs and service calls.
- Adhere to all safety rules and maintain quality housekeeping in the work area.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year or more of work-related experience in a mechanic/technician related position.
Nice-to-haves
- Certificate acquired through a vocational or technical school.
- 3 years or more of work-related experience with heavy equipment, preferably with a rental company or Caterpillar and/or in a position with a working knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, electronic/electrical systems, etc.
- Must have required shop hand tools.
