About the position

The Mechanic position at Wallace Automotive involves diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues to ensure optimal performance and safety. The role requires hands-on work with various automotive systems and components, utilizing specialized diagnostic equipment and tools. Mechanics will also interact with customers to understand their vehicle problems and provide recommendations for repairs.

Responsibilities

• Test drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic equipment.
• Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.
• Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes.
• Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
• Confer with customers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems and discuss work to be performed.
• Examine vehicles to determine the extent of damage or malfunctions.
• Tear down, repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies, such as power systems, steering systems, and linkages.

Requirements

• Experience as a mechanic or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and tools.
• Strong understanding of automotive systems and components.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
