About the position
The Mechanical Assembler position at Aerotek in Fort Collins, Colorado, involves working in a smaller shop environment focused on assembling components for household appliances. The role requires connecting wiring to various accessories, including relays, circuit breakers, plugs, fuses, and switches, as well as installing accessory assemblies in electrical or electronic units. This is accomplished using a soldering iron and various hand tools. The position emphasizes the importance of following technical instructions and interpreting engineering blueprints and technical terms to ensure accurate assembly and functionality of the products. In addition to assembly tasks, the responsibilities include TIG welding and utilizing both hand and power tools to adhere to schematics and 3D renderings of individual components. The assembler must be diligent in collecting all necessary materials and equipment to begin the assembly process, discerning the quality of parts and materials used in production, and checking output to ensure the highest records of production quantities and time. Reporting on issues, malfunctions, and defective parts is also a critical aspect of the role. Candidates should have experience in basic fabrication, electrical work, high purity plumbing, and pipe fitting, as other duties may be assigned as needed. This position is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a duration of six months, requiring full-time on-site work in Fort Collins. The first shift runs from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, with a pay range of $24 to $26 per hour, depending on experience. Candidates must be open to travel, as there may be opportunities for out-of-state training for up to a week.
