About the position

The Mechanical Assistant Project Manager (MAPM) at RQ Construction, LLC. plays a crucial role in supporting the Mechanical Project Manager in overseeing all phases of mechanical construction projects. This position involves organizing, planning, directing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring project activities to ensure quality work is completed safely and within budget and schedule constraints. The MAPM will work closely with the field operations team in King's Bay, GA, and is expected to align with the company's mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

• Support the Mechanical Project Manager in managing all aspects of mechanical construction projects.
• Organize and plan project activities to ensure timely completion.
• Direct and coordinate personnel management processes.
• Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Assist in scheduling and resource allocation for project tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; courses in project management, construction management, or mechanical trade school preferred.
• Two or more years of experience as a Mechanical Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer on projects with a mechanical scope of at least $5,000,000 required.
• Field or trade work experience with mechanical systems is highly desirable.
• Experience in government, military, or large commercial construction preferred.
• Familiarity with design-build industry preferred.
• Computer literacy in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Primavera P6 preferred; specific software literacy in BIM is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in project management software and tools.
