About the position

The Mechanical CAD Designer at EAPC Architects Engineers will be a key member of the Industrial Services team, responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions. This role involves utilizing advanced CAD software to create detailed drawings and models, collaborating with various engineering disciplines, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The position offers opportunities for professional growth while contributing to innovative projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager or Principal on projects from concept to successful completion.
  • Utilize and manage CAD software such as CADWorx Plant, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks, and LiDAR scan-processing software to create schematic, process (P&IDs), and construction drawings and 3D models.
  • Work day-to-day with other engineering disciplines, both internal and external.
  • Perform construction management as necessary during the construction phase of projects.
  • Meet customer demands within deadlines and verify applicable codes and regulations.
  • Report to the Industrial Services Design Lead for training and work scheduling.
  • Assist in improving department drafting procedures and standards.
  • Conduct field visits to industrial facilities and operate LiDAR scanning equipment.
  • Peer review drawings to ensure compliance with EAPC and Client standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum two-year Associates Degree in Drafting Technology or related degree.
  • 5+ years of drafting experience for an engineering consulting firm is a plus, but all experience levels will be considered.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is required; coursework may suffice.
  • Knowledge or experience with industrial processes and piping is preferred.
  • Strong communication and computer skills are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal oversight.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites occasionally and work overtime as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CADWorx Plant is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with LiDAR scanning equipment (Faro or Leica) and software is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with REVIT is a plus but not required.
