About the position

The Engineering client is seeking a Staff-level Mechanical Designer to join their team in Atlanta, GA. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in mechanical design, particularly those with experience in AutoCAD 3D. The role involves working on a variety of projects related to aviation and airport fueling systems, as well as other commercial and military fuel systems. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 to 12 years of relevant experience, particularly in the areas of Oil & Gas, Water/Wastewater, or Industrial Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing detailed mechanical designs, applying engineering principles to create effective fueling systems for various facilities including major airports, military bases, and commercial gasoline stations. In this role, the Mechanical Designer will engage in a range of drawing production tasks, which include problem analysis, layout, detailing, drafting, and performing calculations on projects that vary in complexity. Coordination with other designers, drafters, and design disciplines is essential to ensure that all aspects of the project are aligned and executed effectively. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of $26 to $29, commensurate with experience, and is classified as a temp-to-perm opportunity. Candidates should possess an associate degree and demonstrate proficiency in mechanical design, particularly with 3D modeling and fueling systems.

Responsibilities

  • Plan & prepare detailed mechanical designs in support of aviation & airport fueling projects
  • Apply basic formulas, principles and practices to prepare mechanical designs for fueling systems at major airports, military bases, transport truck and car rental facilities, marine loading facilities, pipeline terminals, truck loading facilities, and commercial gasoline stations
  • Provide a range of drawing production work including problem analysis, layout, detailing, drafting, and calculations on projects of substantial variety and complexity
  • Coordinate drafting activities with other designers, drafters, and design disciplines

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Mechanical Design
  • 2 years of experience in 3D modeling
  • 1 year of experience in Fueling systems
  • Associate degree in a relevant field
