About the position

The Aeroderivative Engineering team at GE is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide technical direction for the design and integration of Aeroderivative Gas Turbine Packages. This role involves executing designs for mechanical components, supporting new product introductions, and ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness in engineering solutions. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance customer satisfaction and drive continuous improvement in engineering processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide key technical direction of the mechanical system design and integration of the Aeroderivative Gas Turbine Package Product Line.
  • Identify, develop, evaluate, introduce, and support design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using engineering principles.
  • Execute design improvements to meet customer requirements.
  • Generate proposals to meet short term and long term needs.
  • Contribute to reduce Cost of Quality exposure and improve quality processes.
  • Evaluate fit configurations options per customer requirements.
  • Support internal and external customers, as well as suppliers, as required.
  • Recognize opportunities to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Stay updated and lead in own technical specialty to anticipate and develop technologies for product introduction and improvements.
  • Manage design schedules for projects/programs with milestones and work task assignments.
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments.
  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
  • Read and interpret schematics of Fluid & Instrumentation diagrams and create mechanical technical drawings.
  • Implement innovative analysis design and development concepts of processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with key functional teams to execute on projects/programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Engineering Technology from an accredited college and university.
  • 0-3 years of experience in Engineering/Technology & Mechanical Component.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Unigraphics.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Travel availability.
  • Legal right to work in the hiring location.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Proven experience in mechanical or process engineering in the power industry.
  • Strong focus on quality, execution, and process rigor.
  • Ability to form productive relationships quickly and create spheres of influence for transformational changes.
