About the position

Knight Const. & Supply, Inc. (KCS) is seeking a motivated and innovative Mechanical/Structural Drafter to support heavy industrial construction projects through CAD 3D modeling and the generation of drawings. The role involves using software such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and MicroStation to create detailed models and drawings that meet customer objectives and KCS quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to work on significant hydroelectric and heavy industrial projects in a supportive and stable work environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete requested technical modeling and drawing tasks using CAD software.
• Review and interpret internal, customer or vendor supplied technical drawings.
• Maintain up-to-date training and knowledge on CAD software and drafting standards.
• Represent corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum three years' experience with structural/mechanical 3D modeling and drafting.
• Proficient with Autodesk Inventor (preferred) or Solidworks, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
• Proficient with Vault Basic (Inventor PDM).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products and BlueBeam (PDF) products.
• Proficient in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics and related specifications.
• Experience with pdf conversion to drawings and vector images.
• Experience working with machinists, fabricators and welder operators building from the drawings.
• Ability to interpret and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Comfortable receiving and providing feedback on models, drawings and workflow.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively; effective verbal and written communication skills.
