About the position

ATC is looking for a self-motivated Mechanical Design Draftsperson who can work with a multidisciplinary engineering team. An exceptional Draftsperson will demonstrate impeccable attention to detail and have sound knowledge of engineering specifications and drafting principles. The role involves following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings, preparing both rough sketches and detailed work with CAD systems, and performing calculations for materials and weight limitations. Communication with engineers is crucial, as the Draftsperson will need to incorporate knowledge gained into drawings and prepare, review, and redraft alongside the engineering team. Additionally, identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team is a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings.
• Preparing both rough sketches and detailed work with CAD systems.
• Performing calculations for materials and weight limitations.
• Communicating with engineers and incorporating knowledge gained into drawings.
• Preparing, reviewing, and redrafting alongside the engineering team.
• Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team.

Requirements

• AAS Degree from a technical college or applicable related working experience equivalent.
• BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Experience in computer-aided design and drafting (CAD).
• AutoCAD experience required.
• Ability to work well in a team and on your own.
• Ability to respond well to criticism and maintain a positive attitude.
• Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with additional CAD software is favorable, but not essential.
