About the position

The Aeromechanical team within this eVTOL vendor is seeking a CAD Design Engineer to join their dynamic and innovative team in Mountain View, California. This position is critical in the development of our technology, as the successful candidate will play an instrumental role in bringing our eVTOLs to market. The role involves conducting changes on drawings and 3D CAD based on feedback from manufacturing engineers, ensuring that designs meet all relevant specifications and standards. The position is a full-time contract lasting 10 months, with the possibility of extension or transition to a permanent role after the contract period. The work schedule is 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, and is open to USA Citizens and Green Card Holders only, as no sponsorship can be provided. The pay rate ranges from $30 to $55 per hour, depending on experience, with flexibility in the rate offered.

Responsibilities

• Create and update 3D models and drawings using CATIA V6.
• Manage CAD release and create change actions using 3DExperience.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to implement feedback into CAD designs.
• Ensure designs meet all relevant specifications and standards.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent/similar subject.
• Proficiency in CATIA V6/3DX for 3D modeling and drawings.
• Experience with 3DExperience for CAD release and creating change actions.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
• 12 Months + Experience working in a commercial environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience releasing designs to different maturity levels using 3DX or other PLM software.
• Previous experience in the aerospace or eVTOL industry.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards and certification processes.
