About the position
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing components for automation, pneumatic, and structural applications within industrial and food automation machines. This role involves working with various design software and collaborating with vendors to ensure the successful development of mechanical parts and assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical parts and assemblies in SolidWorks.
- Create 2D quality control drawings for manufacturing.
- Specify and select components for projects.
- Enter assemblies and references into the document control system (SmarTeam).
- Interface with vendors and contractors for part sourcing.
- Gather and document all project results and report information in proper systems.
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Draftsight (2D design).
- 1+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
- Engineering experience in the automation field.
- Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, SOPs, and Bills of Materials.
- Fluency with Microsoft Office.
- Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of SmarTeam and QAD is a plus.
