About the position

RQ Construction is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Mechanical Engineering team in Jacksonville, FL. This role involves working collaboratively on mechanical and plumbing engineering design development for various projects, primarily focusing on the Department of Defense market. The position requires adherence to military surveying, planning, and design standards while preparing project proposals and coordinating design activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project proposals and coordinate design work activities.
• Complete project designs in adherence to U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Army standards.
• Collaborate with team members on mechanical and plumbing engineering design development.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, including ASHRAE and California Title 24.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on HVAC and Plumbing Engineering.
• Working towards or has a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• 3 to 5+ years of mechanical (HVAC) and plumbing design experience within a consulting firm.
• Experience with ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1, and 55.
• Familiarity with California Title 24 Energy Code.
• Proficiency in BIM and Revit.
