About the position

The Mechanical Design Engineer will play a crucial role in the Space Flight Industry by creating Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models and drawings of foam tiles. This position requires the use of Top-Down Design (TDD) methods to ensure that all tile interfaces function cohesively as a complete system. The role emphasizes the importance of design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) and requires proficiency in CAD software, specifically Creo Parametric.

Responsibilities

• Build Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models and drawings of foam tiles.
• Utilize Top-Down Design (TDD) methods to ensure tile interfaces function as a complete system.
• Demonstrate ability in modeling, drawings, tolerancing, and design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA).
• Utilize Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software as needed.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Creo Parametric CAD software.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
• Demonstrated ability in modeling, drawings, tolerancing, and design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA).
• Familiarity with Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills.
