About the position

The Mechanical Design Engineer position at Professional Engineering Consultants (PEC) involves performing engineering design and coordination on various projects. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with project teams to ensure successful project completion while adhering to design standards and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design and coordination with design staff for plan production.
• Conduct design computations using both hand calculations and computer software.
• Utilize experience and judgment to make informed engineering decisions.
• Organize multiple tasks and complete them in an orderly fashion.
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with the Project Engineer and other PEC divisions.
• Prepare quantity take-offs for construction cost estimates and engineering fee estimates.
• Review project submittals for compliance with design checklists and drafting standards.

Requirements

• A minimum of a B.S. Degree in an appropriate field of study from an accredited college.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam; Intern Engineer (I.E.) credentials are expected.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for client contact.
• Ability to meet critical deadlines through efficient time management.
