About the position

Our Client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a 2-year Contract position in Fremont, CA. This is a W2 only position, and no 3rd Party candidates or inquiries will be accepted. The job offers a competitive pay rate of $50-65/hr. W2. The Mechanical Engineer will participate in the conceptualization, modeling, analysis, development, documentation, and test/validation of hardware associated with new semiconductor equipment. This role involves designing parts using various materials including metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings/plating. The engineer will work closely with potential suppliers to ensure that parts can be manufactured in accordance with performance and cost objectives. Additionally, the engineer will ensure that documentation is consistent with SEMI, company standards, and other applicable standards such as ANSI and DIN, while demonstrating knowledge and ability to properly utilize these standards. The role requires performing analytical work to characterize and specify new and existing designs, focusing on aspects such as heat transfer, stress, vibrations, fluid/gas dynamics, and manufacturability. The engineer will also develop and execute test plans that generate characterization data sufficient to understand and validate the performance of the design. The position includes developing and presenting high-quality reports and presentations that communicate design intent, analysis, and validation during design reviews. Close interactions with suppliers and other internal departments are essential to ensure the reception of high-quality, well-tested, and cost-optimized solutions for defined requirements. The engineer may also be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes to enable the handling, assembly, and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle. Establishing standards across all operational processes and preparing all required deliverables requested by the product development plan (e.g., FMEA, technical specifications, risk analysis, test specifications, design review presentations) are also key responsibilities.
